February 29 Lineup

Speakers / Musicians

In the aftermath of the October 7th attack, we were all weighed down by grief, in all its varying stages. Some of us were in shock, others furious, others hopeless, and some buried in work to cope with an impossible reality.

Erez Safar, Becky Tahel, and Nathan Ben David set out to make a small dent in the darkness, co-creating a meaningful space for our community to come together to heal and unite. The first Be The Light event was packed beyond capacity and yet still felt incredibly warm, intimate and welcoming. A perfect blend of tears and hope, tragedy and triumph. It was such a powerful experience. Now we’re back with another amazing evening of music, wisdom & light.

About Event

This February 29th, the Los Angeles community will come together at a beautiful space (location to be disclosed upon RSVP) with inspiring and empowering speakers (for the head), music (for the heart), and vetted outlets to create and give back to move forward (for the gut).

This particular event will focus on our incredible and unyielding allies. Those beautiful humans who don’t have skin in the game and choose, against all odds, to throw their lot in with ours and stand for justice, peace, compassion, and that ever-elusive objective truth. The line-up will weave us through a holistic healing experience. We will include guided meditations at key moments to allow us to work through, heal, and release our tension and trauma, to come into our bodies and be present. We’ll hear beautiful music from incredible artists and words of wisdom and empowerment from some of the most amazing speakers in the space. Together we will work through the truth, feel through the feels, and move into a brighter future.

Join us for a great time, with food, drink, great quality people, incredible programming, and some meaningful activations.

Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Eliyahu Pereira's work on the front lines in Northern Israel.

Since the beginning of the war on October 7th, Pereira and his wife (with the help of volunteers) were called to serve Israel in powerful ways. Over 370,000 reserve duty soldiers have been called up for service. Because of the overflow of reservists, the army lacks sufficient gear, supplies, and food. Pereira and his team have personally taken it upon themselves to provide for the soldiers and the community on three separate fronts:

1. Providing hot food for the soldiers, Shabbat meals, grocery shopping for whatever they need, buying and supplying life-saving gear, tzit-tzit, cooking, delivering meals (this includes providing Glatt/Mehadrin meals for soldiers who are on bases that are not up to their personal standard of kashrut)

2. Taking part in the community security forces, which are in need of tactical gear and supplies to keep everyone safe.

3. Providing for families in Tzfat who have lost their businesses due to the war, and are on the brink of poverty, bankruptcy, and/or losing their business.

With this support, we will be able to help this holy family and their volunteers to keep this life-saving chesed flowing.
